DEC twoxmm XMM Corrected Declination of the detection in degrees (J2000) after statistical correlation of the emldetect coordinates, RA_UNC and DEC_UNC, with the USNO B1.0 optical source catalogue using the SAS task eposcorr. In case where the cross-correlation is determined to be unreliable no correction is applied and this value is therefore the same as DEC_UNC. float 8 degrees

The Variability table contains statistics from the set of observations of each source. At present, the mean ra and dec and the error in two tangential directions are calculated. The "ra" direction is defined as tangential to both the radial direction and the cartesian z-axis and the "dec" direction is defined as both the radial direction and the "ra" direction. Since the current model is just the mean and standard deviation of the data, then the chi-squared of the fit=1. Data from good frames across all bands go into the astrometric model determination. This will include bands in non-synoptic filters: the one observation in these bands can help. In future releases a fit will be made to the rms data as a function of magnitude in each band, as has already happened for photometric data and a motion model that incorporates proper motion (and possibly parallax) will be used. The motion model is a parameter in the VarFrameSetInfo table.

The deprecation attribute in all tables indicates if the record in question (be it an image or catalogue detection record) has been deprecated by some curation process in the archive. All data having deprecated=0 are nominally good data; the following flags indicate a quality issue and any data having those flags should not be used for scientific purposes (in many instances, deprecated data will be deleted from public survey released database products):

13 Depth (as calculated from sky noise and 5sigma detection in fixed aperture) is too shallow compared to overall histogram distribution (i.e. shallower than ~0.5mag wrt the modal value) OR sky noise is too high given the sky level
14 AperCor3 outlying in aperCor3 versus seeing distribution
15 Pipeline MAGZPT inconsistent between image PHDU, extension HDUs and/or catalogue extension HDUs (from attributes photZP, photZPExt and photZPCat)
16 Difference in detector sky level wrt to mean of all 4 detectors is outlying in the distribution of the same.
18 Provenance indicates that a constituent frame of a combined frame product includes a deprecated frame.

Note: for deprecation values of 128 or greater, the most significant bit of the byte has been set in order to preserve the deprecation value set by any previous quality control flagging run on the previous processed version.

The deprecation attribute in all tables indicates if the record in question (be it an image or catalogue detection record) has been deprecated by some curation process in the archive. All data having deprecated=0 are nominally good data; the following flags indicate a quality issue and any data having those flags should not be used for scientific purposes (in many instances, deprecated data will be deleted from public survey released database products):

13 Depth (as calculated from sky noise and 5sigma detection in fixed aperture) is too shallow compared to overall histogram distribution (i.e. shallower than ~0.5mag wrt the modal value) OR sky noise is too high given the sky level
14 AperCor3 outlying in aperCor3 versus seeing distribution
15 Pipeline MAGZPT inconsistent between image PHDU, extension HDUs and/or catalogue extension HDUs (from attributes photZP, photZPExt and photZPCat)
16 Difference in detector sky level wrt to mean of all 4 detectors is outlying in the distribution of the same.
18 Provenance indicates that a constituent frame of a combined frame product includes a deprecated frame.
